The Importance of Retreats
There is a truth in it that Buddhists are going somewhere on retreats, creating some kind of conditions that can look like as artificial and have nothing to do with real life. That image of Buddhist being all about peace and being removed from the world or at some sort of distance from the world. If we want to be involved in the world and acting for the benefit of others, we need to create conditions like retreats to be able to find an inspiration. For me actually that last retreat gave me a lot of power and strength and inspiration. It was very beautiful retreat.
