Of the 6 million people in the United States and growing with dementia, about 5% of them have frontotemporal. It's a big number and unfortunately growing. Doctors need to be more aware of it. Referral to a neurologist is helpful. Sometimes brain imaging is helpful. But how much that really affects the progression is yet to be seen.
