The Nissan Protected Me From Rain
"I lived in Athens, Georgia, six months, homeless," he says. "My bed was a two foot wide platform." In the next paragraph I talk about being people who are thrust into homelessness. To shelter when we use shelter as a verb it means to protect. So the Nissan protected me from rain.
