The Salt March of 1930
In the mid 19 twenties, gandy threw himself into a nation wide campaign to build a new india. In december 19 28, he gave the british an ultimatum, give india dominion or self governing status within 12 months,. Or face nation wide civil disobedience with complete independence as its goal. The dead line came and went, and a few months later, gandy made his boldest stand yet - which takes us back to the salt march of 19 30. Why salt? Because this staple of the indian diet was taxed very heavily by the britISH, and indians weren't allowed to make or sell own.
