The Importance of Surrogate Outcomes
A study that statistically shows favor, is it clinically significant for overall outcomes? And oftentimes studies are graded off of those longer outcomes like that. Another thing to kind of consider is what's called continuous outcomes and time to event endpoints. A great example of misuse of surrogate markers was the use of a class 1 anterior or the rhythmic medication to prevent sudden cardiac death based on evidence that their medication suppresses the number of PVCs.
