The web space telescope was supposed to launch in 20 ten and cost around a billion dollars. Now the costs have ballooned to ten billion dollars, and it's just way overdue. But i am extremely concerned by the fact that after spending almost two billion dollars over a 12 year period, we only now find out that this kind of mistake could occur. Yes, it's taken such a long time to get here. People were talking about the successor to the hubble the hubble even launched.
After decades of planning, NASA is finally (finally!) set to launch the successor to the Hubble. The new Webb telescope will be a paradigm shift for astronomy, exploring places in the cosmos that have been completely invisible to us until now. But first, it has to safely reach a point nearly a million miles away from the Earth.
