Deafness on Stage

At 35, I was the first deaf woman inducted to who? Each and every step took energy and fights you'll never see. But it also took leaps of faith that helped me believe there was space at the table for someone like me. As an audience member I had to lip-read the impossible. So I celebrated the visibility of a deaf story on stage for one day. Then spent the rest of my life joining the fights to keep authentic deaf voices, deaf actors, consultants and names visible.
