Hedibi, Hyrka, and the Other Scandinavian Towns of the Viking Age

Hedibi was located on the narrow isthmus, connecting Yutland to Germany. It had a fortified harbor on the Baltic and earthwork walls protecting it that linked up to the Danavirka. The next largest and most important town in Scandinavia was Hyrka in Sweden. These towns existed as sort of small islands of urban life amidst a great sea of agrarian, farming and hunting-based life.
