I don't even quite understand the resistance to this way of thinking. I think it's sort of a public relations nightmare for an industry that is already working hard to just convince people that these things are safe at all, much less to convince them that they should be evaluating which kinds of collisions are better and worse. Neither you, the human driver, nor the car, the artificial intelligence can say with perfect certainty what the outcome of a decision is going to be.
