The French Settlement Pattern - The Town Centre

In colonial saint genevieve most people didn't live in town. They lived on their homesteads, on farms outside of town and then came into a small town centre to conduct business or see people. One of the things that unique to that french settlement pattern is having a town centre where folks are living relatively close together. Here we actually see that kind of grid show up of younow.
