Social psychology is obsessed with identifying important factors that act like light switches on or off, switches, that modify or what we call moderate effects. One of the good red flags that you can use to detect a bullshooting ship is when you hear blanket statements as if you know always or everyone every time. Things are never simple. They always become more and more complex. And i tell my stude in courses that i teach about forty percent of what you're going to learn in this class is probably wrong. We don't know it's wrong, but maybe five or ten years from now, we'll knowa we'll know that.
