In the UK, a black woman is five times more likely to die in childbirth. I think it would be especially bad for any communities of color who, you know, are already in less quality medical care to begin with. There's not a culture yet where at some point in history, women weren't looked after between 10 and 40 days. The mother's generation, had she been in the UK, would have stayed in hospital for 10 days after the baby was born. In China, there is still the sitting the month. And lots of customs about warming food whether that's spicy warming or spicy food. So what's absolutely fascinating is everywhere has done it seems to have done it!
