Writing a Short Story - Is Outlining a Good Idea?

When you're writing a novel, you have to be aware that a moment like that needs a lot more set up. So when people talk about outlining, i think it doesn't work for a lot of us because maybe because we're short stord story writers and we're impatient. Maybe because we're discovery writers and we enjoy the process of discovering what's happening. I would say to you, what i'm discovering is that outlining the next outlining the few scenes that you are the few beats that you know your novel needs, is nothing like writing the novel. It's understanding that there is a lot more writing to do to earn those beats than is necessarily mentioned. As a short story writer
