What Is a Closed End Fund?
A closed end fund is a type of investment vehicle. It's something you can buy on a stock exchange just like an ETF or a stock. As people add more money to it, the investment managers have to go buy more stocks. So if for some reason they do shut it down, you're going to get the net asset value, the value of the underlying securities paid out to you in cash.
