In 1978, the chances of a woman getting breast cancer in Kenya were 82 times lower than in the U.S. Dr. Caldwell Esselstin was even more surprised by the numbers he discovered for some other types of cancer. In World War II, the Germans occupied Norway and forced people to eat mainly plant-based foods. The deaths from heart attack and stroke began plummeting after 1945.
