Octavian's Campaign to Invade Illyria
There's a number of different theories that have been put forward for why Octavian might have invaded Illyria. One theory is to keep his troops from being spoiled by idleness, while another suggests he was trying to emulate Julius Caesar. The East coast of the Adriatic has often been used as a staging post for military interventions, either for military invasions of Italy or conversely for military interventions into the Balkans. And so it's been suggested that Octavian may also have been keen to get himself a foothold there in order to prevent Anthony from getting a foothold and then invading Italy.
