The French Empire in the 18 Sixties

By the end of the 18 sixties, the empire was not very popular and its position was very tenuous. Opposition leaders in france were starting to seriously nip at the emperor's heels. The once boundlessly energetic napoleon had slipped into an unhappy lethargy. By the time of the austro prussian war, the emperor had developed the painful bladder stone that would eventually kill him.
