The Problem of the Cartesian Circle

The worry about the cartesian circle goes back to this question about the function of god in the system as deco presents it in the meditations. And john was explaining a little earlier that part of what's going on there is that god gives us a reason to treat not just our senses, but our reason the perceptions of rationality, as generally reliable. The objection, the worry that's encompassed in the idea of there being something circular here is, on what basis do we believe in god's existence?
