i think that the way scientists talk about it like oh there's this process that's going to determine very accurately what's true i think that there's a bit of mythological thinking going on there. Some children may feel betrayed more than others when they realize some fairy stories are not literally true in the way that they are. There might be a distinction between the way we treat say Santa Claus versus other kinds of fairy stories you know because yeah we're not putting cookies on the table and physically reenacting a lot of the the tales and the fables that we're telling children. I've got a similar example which perhaps works with adults uh which would be arranging for surprises some people like
