The microphones were placed in the ears of a mannequin. The head is mathematically built so it represents the way sound moves around a human head. To be honest, somehow it was kind of off-putting because it made my vocal sound incredibly clear and very present in the mix. "I eventually wanted some more coral, like beautiful parts to it," she says.
