The Black Movies - The Best of Both Worlds
It's on the society files of shanghai from 19 81. This is part of a little wave of movies in the late seventies and early eighties called the black movies. They were gritty, violent exploitation movies for working class audiences. The movie opens with a high ranking chinese general being stabbed by a gang led by his one time lover. It untangles a huge web of corruption ing up to the very highest levels of the chinese government.
