Intelligence: The First Task (Book 4, Chapter 20)

Harry Potter and the Sacred Text

CHAPTER

The Innate Skill of Hermione

Margaret Atwood: I think Hermione does genuinely have like an innate skill for research. And by doing it, many, many times throughout the books, she learns essentially important things that are extremely crucial to the different tasks these folks undertake. But here actually her instinct for research is not serving them well. She's looking at all these spells they don't know how to do and have never studied. It's one of those moments where I think it's important to remember that you're going to try and use your strengths all of the time. Other times it means you are approaching the task in entirely the wrong way.
