If you're going to force mothers to carry children to adoption, then you'd better be forcing the fathers to be financially responsible for that child. The republican party was not strongly associated with this idea of abortion being like, one of the primary issues. I don't want women to have abortions either, but if they have to, they need to be able to do that if it is the thing that's going to save their life and not fluck everything up for both them and the childye.
