The Limits of Library Classification and Cataloging

Queer theory challenges us to interrogate the processes and power relations that produce certain ways of knowing and being as correct and others as wrong, deviant and less worthy of life. When brought into conversation with the literature of critical library classification and cataloging practice, Queer theory informs new strategies for teaching the library catalog from a queer perspective. So we have to leave intact some of the catalog so we can learn from it.
