Anthropomorphism is really interesting to me. People attribute like human like qualities to things that aren't even anthropomorphic. You don't want your robots to be too cute. There's this well documented phenomena on faculty in the aerospace department at MIT. So it's really not about engendering trust in a system especially for trusted applications. It's another set of design decisions that need to be considered more holistically.
