The Great Depression and the Relationship Between Government and Economy

Many of these firms were directly involved in colonialism. Many of these companies were used to extract the wealth and resources of countries in the global south that were colonized by the European colonial powers. Colonial violence really exploded in World War I, in which the different European colonial powers fought a war with each other.
