Public understanding of science is important because even if you're not a scientist or work in a scientific field,. We're called upon to act on the basis of scientific information directly and indirectly all the time. There's no straight line from GWAS score to phenotype. Will a public understand that? And will administrators who are not biologists understand that? I think there's a lot of danger there.
