The Incredibles Are Not a War Movie

I don't feel like in this country we're necessarily seeing that warfare, the way we have seen warfare on our TV screens over the last 60, 70 years. I think it's an Oscar contender in part because there's nothing else like it right now. The things that are spectacle are a little bit more fantasy or a little bitMore light. Even Top Gun Maverick, which is ostensibly a war movie, but really has no enemy, doesn't have a true battle scene. It seems to be the thing that is annoying the purists.
