Mikeswyid: The gender gap in education is much smaller at the top of the distribution than at the bottom, so in the upper middle class. He says affluent parents are compensating for the struggles their boys are having by investing more heavily in their sons' education. But down and further socio-economic ladder, parents aren't doing as good a job with girls', he adds. Mikeswyid's new book will be released on September 25th.
