The Role of Gratitude in Your Brain

When you practice gratitude, it increases dopamine, serotonin, which are all sort of happiness neurotransmitters. We're just evolutionally pre-programmed to scan for danger. So what I like to do is trick my brain into scanning for positive by pairing it with something that's automatic and already a habit. And then lastly, we want to create a culture in our schools and in our classrooms where gratitude is just sort of baked into the DNA.
