The Germanic Peoples in the Roman Empire

Non celtic peoples in this region simply became known as the germanic peoples. That's also the root of the modern word germany. So you can see how these distinctions tween celtic and germanic were often blurred, especially from the perspective of the romans who were often unconcerned about those distinctions.
