The Origins of Black Holes

There's a lot of evidence that black holes exist, and there are even lots of them in the universe. But they're not likely to make up any appreciable fraction of the dark matter. Other theoretical ideas may be able to get around this. You could imagine that maybe there were some kinds of black holes that formed even earlier in our universe's history.
