So like during that age frame Like I've heard stories of people saying like oh this kind of stuff happened And I was like I've never heard stories about that because I just don't think it happened like where I was And I thought it was always so interesting and to me It's like this myth that people always say happened, but I'm like dude. I don't see the proof here like Are you sure these really happens? I feel like especially now It's so weird because it all happens digitally, which is crazy But I've definitely heard stories of people being like oh my gosh You could be a model like you could come model with us But there's also creepy people who scam you and do that and then try to take your money So it's a you know double-edged sword I think it does make sense though back then especially because it's like, you know, that wasn't the digital age yet Yeah, so especially little kids. Yeah, like that's probably one of the most effective ways to find little children That sounds so creepy but like Do you think that like creating youtube content and stuff has also helped you with doing your Acting auditions and things like that because you know You had to get comfortable on a camera and it sounds like you Built up some of the skills that you need to be able to do these remote auditions and stuff Oh totally I really didn't realize at the time how practical a lot of these youtube skills were because A lot of actors that I talked to now, they really struggle with the self-tape Like that's the hardest part of the hurdle of like being able to film with good lighting get good audio and to feel like you're talking to someone With no one actually being there because they're used to being in an audition room with a reader and that sort of thing I have almost a flipped problem where if I go into an audition room I have no idea how to handle myself because I've never had to do it But give me a camera and give me total control over the circumstances the lighting everything And I'm totally fine like at least nerves wise. I'm not nervous in terms of acting skill I definitely could work on that but youtube has been helpful with that just in being aware of what I look like when I speak And how my face changes and all the little subtle things that we as like humans pick up in one another but are normally not aware that we're doing ourselves So that's been really helpful and also just getting rid of like the sub like the self-consciousness of Seeing yourself on camera. I now like don't really worry about seeing myself on camera Because I already knew what I looked like I knew what I sounded like I'm not surprised It still sucks to see myself act because that's like a weird thing of being like oh you're not being yourself But otherwise it's been really helpful especially for like covid age Acting situation granted. I've done mostly like commercial work, which is not super narrative And that's like a very different style of acting work But it's been really helpful and now even with acting everyone wants someone with a social media presence like Fortunately Unfortunately for a lot of my actor friends who are very craft driven and haven't really focused more on I'm having a pop an instagram or tick tock really people are getting scouted through Through through social media, which is like a whole different dimension of the acting landscape that people didn't really deal with as much before whoa That's so interesting and I want to like explore you saying that you know being on youtube and stuff made you a little bit less self-conscious because I feel like i've also seen people talk about like the opposite version Where there's this vlogger that I really love and she pretty much vlogs like most of her stuff And she said one day like she's like yeah, i'm gonna go on a diet because unfortunately I like see my face pretty much like 24 hours of the day like it's not just through mirrors Like I have to like edit my face all the time So she's like I feel like I've gotten a little fat lately so i'm gonna go on a diet and I was like On one hand, it's nice because you can kind of be like oh, I don't i'm not like as healthy recently and here's proof of it But on the other hand, I feel like it could easily turn into like oh, I like a little bit different today So i'm gonna like cut my eating or whatever. So I feel like in a way like since i'm not filming myself I'm not on tiktok or youtube. I don't always have to see my face So then i'm less focused on my imperfections if that makes sense But if you are always seeing your face then this is kind of abstract But after a certain point like do you visualize yourself through like behind the camera kind of oh Wow, that is very abstract No, I think that you're right in that when you're fed just so much content of yourself Looking and speaking.
