The First Individualism
The first individualism is really, you can sort of go back to say the 18th century to see the emergence of contemporary individualism. What was happening there was a transition from a very rural driven feudal society where it was agricultural. And all of a sudden you have this gigantic, big change of an economic change that happens in society. This gives people more freedom - women still didn't have the vote and still faced a lot of restriction, but they had more freedom than had a hundred years earlier. Now some of the stuff we've talked about here, particularly what you see is some of the first great awakenings like Wesley and so on,. Where they create these discipleship structures like societies
