What Can You Do to Protect Yourself?
The us. Treasury has an insatiable demand for debt, says David Frum. The cost of financing the debt is now two % londo, he argues. That's partly because of complacency on the part of bond traders and efforts by the fet to keep the interust trate down. If we get up to four point 4% in interest rates then there will be a real crowding out of the federal budget just to finance the debt - which could happen ten years from now.
