The Importance of Basic Sprint Running Training
There's a global understanding of how most humans would relatively optimally run at high speed. Having a long longer stride may not always be optimum because you can swerve at long stride but you can't change direction effectively at long strides. The idea of keeping center gravities lower during acceleration and waiting for changes in direction is really an important consideration. Just getting someone who can run a fast hundred meters doesn't mean they're then going to be extremely good at a sport so there are lots of reasons or ways that I would argue that we manipulate the technique to reduce arm length stride length, lower center of gravities and increased stride rates.
