The Book of Mormon's View on Priesthood and Authority
The Book of Mormon, since it came before 1830, would show us his view on priesthood and authority prior right at the founding of the church. Joseph Smith in the early days talks about more authority than priesthood. The references to the Melchizedek priesthood come from Sidney Rigdon. Their Joseph Smith is not really aware of a Melchizer priesthood at this point.
