Optimizing Drug Administration and Admission Process in the ED
This chapter emphasizes the importance of not delaying doses in the emergency department and discusses the role of an ED pharmacist in ensuring nothing is missed. It also highlights the need to treat ED patients who have been there for more than 24 hours as inpatients and advocates for shorter times between admitting orders and the admitting teams taking ownership of boarding patients.
