The Justice Department Indicted Duncan Hunter and His Wife for Converting Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars in Campaign Funds for Personal Use
Rep. Duncan Hunter, a Republican from San Diego and a former Army Ranger who fought in Vietnam, was the chairman of the powerful House Armed Services Committee. The Justice Department announced last night that it had indicted Hunter and his wife for converting hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign funds for personal use or falsifying campaign finance records. We hadn't wanted to name him until we confirmed he was involved in the friendly fire. He won his father's house seat when the old man ran for president, the first Iraq combat veteran to serve in Congress.
