As the Season Turns
The Banshees of Inish Arran
The islands are a geological extension of the Buran part of an outcrop of castic limestone on the coast of County Clare. They were cut off from the mainland a mere 10,000 years ago by rising sea levels at the end of the last ice age. The islanders have long used their hard rock to make bowls, mortars and holy fonts. It's almost always windy here and as you might expect it rains a lot.
