Genetic Engineering a Life Before It's Born

The idea that you would actually edit the entire blueprint in every cell of a person before they're alive seems like it's going to happen. But something that i find worrying here is there's also this suggestion that not only should these children have close medical monitoring for their own sakes, but that they should also be monitoed - making them ndlike lab rats. I think if we put it to society to id on the ethics of genetically engineering a life before it's born, you know, this isn't the same as really clever medical treatment.
