This is an incredibly unique book and that is the first attempt to apply Marxist historical materialism to the full life of Jesus. Within mainstream biblical studies, it's pretty much accepted that Jesus existed. But what you guys do is situate Jesus as a product of his material conditions and situate him in the not only the material conditions, but the active movements and class conflicts of his time.
