Octavian's Proconsular Authority in Rome

The senate granted octavian ten years proconsular authority over the provinces of spain, gaul, cilicia, syria and egypt. Octavian guaranteed that three quarters of rome's military was under his personal command. Senate finally settled on a new name, the name by which most people know octavian to day - augustus or revered one.
