Work Will Make You Free

Work will make you free. That was the motto on the outside of the entrance, right? Carved in ina, in steel, arbe m fra, work will set you free. And someone thought that was a joke. They would have the people who could l stumble forward, let's say, pick up hundred pound sacks of salt and then carry them across the compound. You think, well, that's not so bad. Maybe there's some purpose to it. It wasn't even carrying the damned salt across the camp. It was carrying it across and back. So the work actually kills you instead of helping you survive.
