I think we should move away from a system where fathers get a much shorter amount of leave than mothers. And I think at the very least, we should allow families to split that leave as they see fit. Where I'm sort of in two minds, I guess, is whether we should go further and have a use it or lose it system which has become more common in Europe. But yeah, so I suppose I hope that the ideas could have some political impact,. particularly they can help to build bridges between the sort of left and liberal parts of the progressive family.
