The Resurgence of Vinyl Records and Challenges in Vinyl Production

This chapter explores the renewed interest in vinyl records and the demand for unique editions, leading to major labels becoming involved in producing limited vinyl variants. It highlights the need for major labels to rebuild vinyl production plants due to high demand, currently managed mainly by independent plants, and discusses challenges in the record pressing process extending to ten months from the previous timeframe of four to six weeks. The chapter also covers topics of environmental impact, creative decisions in releasing music, and the process of creating music during the pandemic.
