Karen Sketchin looks at Daniel Defoe's own political life. She says he was always on the side of a kind of constitutional monarchy. He even ended up in prison for his political agitating didn't he? Karen: Well back to the book the four Islanders construct a plan for their escape but before they come back an English ship appears that's been taken over by mutineers intent on marooning their captain on the island. Crusoe helps the captain to take back his ship and then finally sets sail for England after 28 years two months and 19 days on his island. One might expect the story to end there but there's a rather strange final section in which Crusoe arrives
