After the fall of sigon in 19 75, there were rules about what songs may or may not be sung. These songs contained a lot of historical personal truths. Over the 100 years that they had been at war, there is hardly a family that has not suffered the loss of a member. Thousands ofmes left the country, living countries all over the world. And they bring this music with them. It holds together their memory of a time and a place that they stoll long for a time in a place that can never come.
