The Importance of Isolation in the Iraq War
Right after the invasion, when they first polled, 71% of Americans said that the U.S. had made the right decision in sending military force to Iraq. That within about a year, year and a half had gotten much more 50-50. And part of that was you saw Democratic support for the conflict go from being around half of Democrats to 20 or 15%. Republican support for the war was also sliding, but it was a sliding at a much slower rate.
