The Importance of Reputation in Design

A lot of designers are essentially designing to the standards of the people that pay them and not to their own standards. Most designers probably can't even rely on their best work in their job to represent the best work they can do. I think just showing those iterations is a way to show that you care about the details, if what you end up with is relatively simple.
